About the Workshop
New workshop alert!! Join us for a new advanced risograph workshop! Learn how to use traditional frame animation techniques and learn the process for making hand drawn flip-book animations that are then riso printed!
In this class, students will learn how to use frame animation techniques to draw out animations frame-by-frame. There will be examples of hand drawn and printed flip-books for inspiration and ideas. After printing editions of their frame-by-frame contact sheets on the risograph, students will learn the process of assembly and binding to make the flip books come to life!

Accessibility & Mask Policies
We want our workshops to be as accessible as possible! Outlet is a ground-floor space with a single-stall ADA accessible bathroom. If there’s any way we can make your visit feel more comfortable or safe please let us know.
In an effort to keep our classes accessible and to keep our most vulnerable community members safe we require masks in our space for all group workshops and indoor events. We offer both masked and mask optional appointments during our open hours.

We're the home of a zine library and more art supplies, making tools, and collage materials than we know what to do with. We also rent our space and offer in-person open hours where folks can print, make buttons, and hang out. Outlet is based out of Portland, Oregon and was founded in 2017.
About the Instructor
Flannery Smith is an interdisciplinary artist and crafter, with a focus on drawing and printmaking. She resides Portland, Oregon - the town she was born and raised in - and has a BS in Art Practices from Portland State University, and MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art. Self-publishing, zines, poster making, music, video, and animation have all been a part of her personal and artistic practice, and being someone who draws, she is excited by the possibilities of how to make static drawings come to life through animation.
